Why travel

Some places and moments only exist in a specific window — a festival, a season, a stage of life, even the version of a city before it changes. There's a real cost to "I'll do it eventually" that people don't clock until the window's closed.
Travel throws you into contact with people you'd never otherwise meet — different backgrounds, different ways of thinking, different stories. Those connections often end up mattering more than the destination itself.
It pushes you out of your comfort zone almost by default — new places force decisions you don't normally have to make, and that's exactly what builds real confidence (see Mindset & Clarity).
Overcoming the inevitable hiccups — a missed connection, a language mix-up, getting lost — teaches you to problem-solve under pressure in a way that's hard to replicate sitting at home.

Solo travel & finding people

Travelling alone isn't the same as being lonely — you'll end up talking to more people solo than you often do in a group, because you're not retreating into who you already know.
Hostels, walking tours, and shared activities are the easy way in if the idea of solo travel feels intimidating — they're basically built for meeting people, not just accommodation.
